About Us

Collins Sailmakers Performance Racing & Cruising Sails & Boat CoversCOLLINS SAILMAKERS is a relatively young business, employing the latest technology and equipment in sail design and manufacture.  The company started in 1991 and with continuous development & expansion saw the opening of a new loft in 1999.

From the outset we have selected from the very best materials, to produce the highest Quality of manufacture of both sails and covers of all types.

Our sewing machines are set in the floor of the loft which gives us a large sewing table. We have a variety of machines, including computer controlled, with pneumatic pullers, enabling us to handle the heaviest of sails and covers.

A large part of our work makes use of our Computer Aided Design System.

Developing sails for racing and cruising boats is both a lengthy and meticulous process, once successful sails are produced, they have to be adapted to a particular boat, by taking account of the weight, boat, hull shape, and individual rig set up.

On the water, digital photography is extensively used in establishing the impact of the rig set up on the proven sail design.

Our company is based on the belief that our customers' needs are of the utmost importance. Our entire team is committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals.

We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best service in the industry.
